Ifeanyi Ubah: Protest in Anambra South over CBN COVID-19 Soft Loan

A group of youths and women under the auspices of Anambra South Covid-19 pandemic CBN Soft Loan had on Sunday protested in their various localities against Sen. Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah whom they accused of Syphoning a whopping sum of 100million naira being funds met for selected Anambra South Indigenes from the central bank of Nigeria ( CBN) to cushion the effects of COVID- 19 pandemic.

According to the spokesman of the team, Comr. Ndibe Ezeokafor J.P, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah two months ago asked them to make available their account details including their BVNs for a total of 1million naira CBN Covid-19 soft loan which shall be given to them Courtesy of him – a request which they complied with immediate effect but surprisingly, when the money were paid, he asked each of them numbering over 100 to bring the money to a central purse through which he can add some cash to it to enable them expand the scope of their business.

Mr Ezeokafor lamented that till date non of the over 100 youths and women that returned the money were yet to be given not even a Kobo neither were they called for a meeting since two min now and every attempt made to reach their senator proved abortive.

The women coordinator, Mrs Ebelechukwu Ifekanwa, said that she is currently having series of family problems with her husband over the incident because those whom she collected their account numbers and BVNs has kept threatening her saying that she has scammed them.

The angry group added that, since Sen. Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has scammed them, that he should make sure he tells the CBN to delete their names and BVNs from the list of those who took the loan so that it won’t be used against them during the loan servicing period since their BVNS and account details were used to secure the loan.

They also accused Sen. Ubah of other crimes and scandals which they vowed to expose soon and even threatened to approach the court if the needful were not done.

The question that is beckoning for an answer is, what could make a serving senator scam his people to such extent?

What was his motive in the first place by requesting for their BVNs and account details when he knows he is not ready to give them back the money?

And finally, if a leader couldn’t deliver what was given to him to give his people, how sure are the people that he is ready to give his own to the people?
