Ikenne LG Boss Charges Exco Members To Extend Dividend Of Democracy

The newly inaugurated Executive Council Members of Ikenne Local Government Area have been charged to work effectively towards extending dividend of democracy to people of the grassroots.

 

The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye gave this charge during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Excos, held at the Local Government Secretariat, Ikenne, Ogun State.

 

He assured that his administration has a lot of programmes that would ensure individual prosperity, especially for the people of Ikenne Community and its environs.

 

Hon. Ogunleye who appreciated the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for being passionate about the welfare and well-being of the citizens in the State, enjoining the new appointees to support his administration in raising the flag of the Local Government to a greater height.


“Let me remind you that the present administration in the State has a huge task in ensuring that our people enjoy dividends of democracy. I therefore want to seek for your support and co-operation so that the task can be achieved”, he said.

 

In his remarks, the Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) of the council, Hon. Jamiu Asimi submitted that it is imperative to empower the party members, saying that with the programme of the party, no doubt the dividend of democracy would go round the nooks and crannies of the State as a whole.

 

Speaking, the new Special Adviser to the Chairman on Health and Wealth, Mr. Ayodele Osipitan promised to come up with workable ideas and support the Chairman in organizing Health Talks/Seminars, various workshop for the youths on how to create wealth and be self-employed, saying that when all this in place, it would help in eradicating social vices among the youths.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Rotimi Osinowo and the Supervisory Councillor on Works and Housing, Alh. Kehinde Ogunnubi said that they would engaged in youths empowerment programmes and also embark on sensitisation for market women on how to maintain good hygiene in the market places.


The Consultant on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Hon. Ayodele Osoko, the Supervisory Councillor on Health and Wealth, Hon. Ademola Awosipe and Supervisory Councillor on Agricultural, Hon. Olusola Ogunleye pledges their unflinching support towards a success tenure of the present administration in Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.
