Imam Maraba: ‘Ilorin has lost one of its finest Islamic scholars’ – Saraki

Former President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, says with the death of Imam Maraba, Sheikh Shuaib Abdulsalam, Ilorin Emirate has lost one of its finest Islamic scholars.

 

Saraki in a condolence message signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Council of Ulamas, the Tijaniyyah Sect, family of the deceased and the entire Ilorin Emirate.

 

He described the late Imam Maraba as a worthy ambassador of Ilorin Emirate and an Islamic cleric who served his Creator and humanity with high sense of commitment and dedication.

“Sheikh Shuaib Abdulsalam was a respected and well known Islamic cleric in Ilorin Emirate who promoted the teachings and principles of Islam through out his lifetime. He will always be remembered for his contributions to the growth of Islam in Ilorin and beyond,” he added.

 

Saraki prayed Almighty Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him into Aljanah Firdaus and grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear his loss.
