INEC extends PVCs collection deadline in Osun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State has extended the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The Commission has also assured that it would make the PVCs available to every ward across the 31 local government areas in the state from Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

In a statement signed by Oluwaseun Osimosu, Public Affairs Officer, INEC Osun State, the electoral umpire announced that prospective voters were to come with the slips issued to them during the registration exercise in exchange for the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

The statement said, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State wishes to inform the general public most especially all eligible voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, that they can now collect their PVCs at the Registration Areas (Wards) from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June 2022 between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm daily.

“Prospective voters are to come with their Registration Slip issued during Registration Exercise in exchange for the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

“The Commission wishes to reiterate that collection by proxy is not allowed, please and PVC Collection is FREE.

“The public is therefore enjoined to ensure they use this opportunity to collect their PVCs. No PVC, No Voting.”

INEC had set a deadline for the collection of PVCs for June 30, 2022.

Also, the e-copy of the voter’s register has been handed over to the 15 political parties that will be jostling in the Osun 2022 gubernatorial election.
