The Independent Electoral Coommission (INEC) have on Wednesday, 16th May, released new dates for Governorship elections in Kogi and Bayels states respectively.
According to the statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, the elections will now hold on Saturday, 16th November, 2019.

Mr Okoye said the commission came to this agreement due to appeals made by some prominent persons in Bayela state, saying the initial date, November 2nd, 2019, clashes with the states “Annual Thanksgiving Day which is backed up by the Bayelsa State Thanksgiving Day Law 2012.
