International Youth Day: Nobody went Missing – NYCN

THE National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has debunk rumors that two persons went missing on International Youth Day held at Portharcourt.

In a statement signed by it President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, the group emphasised that two members, alleged to be missing are not even members of the NYCN.

He added that they were instead, arrested by the IGP monitoring Unit in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State and later transferred to Borokiri IGP Station in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.

Read statement below –

I, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, the President of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) wish to debunk the unsolicited rumours that two members of National Youth Council of Nigeria went missing in Portharcourt, after the International Youth Day.

The fact is that the two Comrades; Mr. Spiff Napoleon and Mr. Levi George Zachariah – the National President, National Union of Rivers state Students (NURSS), who are honorable Youths of Nigeria, are not members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

They were on their way back to Okirika and were arrested by the IGP monitoring Unit in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. They were later transferred to Borokiri IGP Station in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.

However, the good news is that, after due interrogations and having been found to be true Comrades, the two gentlemen were finally released by the Police and they have since reunited with their respective families, (today).

As at 11:12pm (this night), I personally communicated with the NURSS President, after their release. He confirmed that they are hale and hearty.

God bless the Nigerian Youth!

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!

Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo.
