Barely sixty-five days to the official handover of government, wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano says she is already missing her eight-year close contact with Anambra women and children.
Dr (Mrs) Obiano stated this while speaking to the ABS on her experience in office and her plans post-government.
According to the governor’s wife who is also the founder of the charity organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, women and children, especially the indigent among them, have always been the focus of her humanitarian motivation; with CAFE’s charity blueprint which spanned across eight years recreating a social response paradigm to have direct impact on this group of people.
She said that over the period of her husband, Governor Willie Obiano’s impressive run of governance, she has successfully provided complementary effects, with her NGO overseen the completion and handover of twenty eight fully-furnished bungalows for widows and indigent rural women, overseen correctional surgeries for children with cleft lips and palate, training and empowerment of over five thousand women and youths in different vocational areas, among others, all at no costs.
The governor’s wife also said that she was confident that wife of the Governor elect, Mrs Nonye Soludo would continue to reach out to Anambra women and children, emphasizing that government policies could never be complete without valid focus on these people.
Dr (Mrs) Obiano also doused fears that CAFE might fold up after her husband’s tenure, reaffirming that the scheme would remain very active post-politics because her charity ideologies are driven by deep passion and not mere political wish.
