Governorship aspirant of the Edo People’s Movement (EPM) in Edo state, Pastor Ize Iyamu, has sacked his campaign organisation’s Director of Communication, Mr John Mayaki after a furious argument over a ‘N500 million campaign fund’. It is the latest in a series of tense exchanges between them.
The money was reportedly given to Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of APC to deliver Ize-Iyamu, a former Secretary to Edo State Government in the infamous Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Government regime in Edo State.
Mr John Mayaki was named the Director of Communication and Media along with 12 other appointees into the Pastor Ize-Iyamu Campaign organisation on April 2, 2020.
Crackteam Naija reports that the duo burst up with each other began when Mr Mayaki stormed Ize-Iyamu’s residence on Tuesday night, demanding to know why he should be excluded from the N500 million largesse.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu has however pleaded with his domestic Staff and other members of his Media to cap the scandal under the sheepskin to save his name from being dragged in the mud.
It was gathered that the Governorship aspirant described Mr Mayaki as an ant in the ointment, adding that “if he could betray Governor Godwin Obaseki who appointed him as his interim Chief Press Secretary (CPS)” and resorted to blackmail, he (Ize-Iyamu) won’t be an exemption.
He lambasted and accused Mr Mayaki of being too money conscious and directed him to table issues that has to do with finance before Mr Abbas Braimoh who is his Director of Welfare and Chief of Staff to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the APC forthwith.
The aspirant was also reported to have said that Mayaki lost his trust since 2016 when he sponsored negative publicity against him during the Edo State Governorship election in 2016 which he lost to Governor Godwin Obaseki.
“Mr Mayaki complained bitterly when he came to Oga’s house yesterday”, but Oga took him up and almost walked him out, a confidential source said.
“I do not have the kind of money Mr Mayaki is requesting for. A man who could betray the Governor who appointed him interim CPS. What else will he not do to anyone else”, Ize-Iyamu was reported to have told Mr Mayaki.
Crackteam Naija learnt that leaders of Edo Peoples Movement (EPM) where Ize-Iyamu and Oshiomhole belong, are deeply worried about the development over the crisis of confidence and failed paradigm that require urgent replacement.
