Jimoh Ibrahim and his Citadel of Fortune

It is no more news that Chief Jimoh Ibrahim, the business mogul, is erecting a gigantic citadel of higher learning of Cambridge University standards in his home town at Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government Area.

The thrilling aspects of the humongous investments are numerous. From the architectural structures, the enviable standard to the associated fortune embedded in it for the students, the lecturers and the host community, it is obvious that we have a World class University soon to be birthed.

The University of Fortune as its name implies is still under construction, but anyone who visits the site would be marveled by the great architectural works going on there.

The University which is sitting on over three thousand plots of land would have no rival amongst private Universities in Africa when completed.

The Chairman of Global Fleet Group, Chief Jimoh Ibrahim – lawyer, businessman and politician, who is the sole proprietor of this up coming beautiful university, while conducting us round the university yesterday, said his intention was not to compete with anyone but to ensure that the standards found in the leading Universities around the world, like Cambridge and Harvard Universities are replicated in this sprawling Citadel of intellectualism. Speaking further, he emphasized that certificates from the University will be issued by the Cambridge University of London.

He also enumerated a lot of benefits and ease of studies that the students will enjoy in the university when it commences.

Apart from the numerous benefits the students will enjoy in the university, standard three bedroom flats of over a hundred units are being built for prospective lecturers of the university who are PhD holders, while duplexes which are being built for the Professors each are also in the advance stage. Both the school premises and the residential quarters will enjoy uninterrupted power supply.

The most amazing aspect is that lecturers will enjoy both accommodation and electricity free of charge throughout their stay in the quarters.

The business mogul added that the salaries of the lecturers will compare favourably with the amounts paid in leading government Universities in Nigeria.

I commend the ingenuity, courage, wisdom and acumen of Chief Jimoh Ibrahim in bringing this great University to the Sunshine State for exponential impact on the standard of education. This is not the first time Chief Ibrahim will be making history.

This initiative is however a unique one and another enviable feather added to his already rich resume and for which posterity will forever be kind to him.
