Katy Perry paid tribute to her father, Maurice Keith Hudson, dedicating her first performance since the birth her adorable daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, to him. As took the stage at the 2020 American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night.

The 36-year-old American singer performed alongside former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker for a “reimagined” rendition of her track ‘Only Love’ from her latest LP ‘Smile’. Other brilliant perform where made the likes of Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Megan Thee Stallion, Nelly, and Billie Eilish, BTS.

Due to the restrictions the coronavrius pandemic as caused, owing to travel restrictions there was room for very creativ and intriguing stage performance from different locations, countries where musical atrist joining the show from.

Brilliant opening by Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes giving the debut performance of their collaboration ‘Monster’, while the former also performed his solo tracks ‘Lonely’ and ‘Holy’. A street was closed off by ‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker giving the world premiere performance of ‘In Your Eyes’ and ‘Save Your Tears’ with Kenny G. In grand stlye the perfomance which saw the Canadian musician don bandages on his face as pyrotechnics were set off all around him. Also Dua, who was affected by this performed from Royal Albert Hall in London during her performance of her hit single, ‘Levitating’.

Jennifer Lopez and Maluma performanced ‘Pa’ Ti’ and ‘Lonely’, which they co-wrote for their upcoming rom-com, ‘Marry Me’. South Korean boy band, BTS, also made the event as they performed ‘Life Goes On’ for the first time, as well as hit single ‘Dynamite’ at the Seoul’s Olympic Stadium.

Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Dan + Shay were winners of the night, taking home three most distinguished prizes. The artis of the year, new artist of the year, collaboration of the yea was won by Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, Dan + Shay with Justin Bieber, “10,000 Hours”, respectively.
