Kazeem (Kekere) Kazuma not Dead; abductors demand 15m

News reaching us has it that Kazeem Alli Kazuma also known as Kazeem Kekere or Kekere Kazuma have not been killed; but still with kidnappers.

 

It was reported earlier that Mr Kekere Kazuma, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, who doubles as the Branch Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Apomu headquarters of Isokan LGA, was shot dead on Saturday night after he was trailed to a spot in the community.

 

But most importantly, his body was taken away but the Isokan Local Government Secretary, Tajudeen Bello, confirmed him dead.

 

But the police command in the state had said some hoodlums attacked Alli with machete around Oke Alfa, Apomu, on Saturday, and took him to an undisclosed location.

 

According to SP Yemisi Opalola, Osun Police spokesperson, Kazeem was allegedly abducted on Saturday and taken into the bush after he was trailed from his motor park to Oke-Afa Area in Apomu.

 

Opalola, said in the statement that eight people had been arrested in connection with the incident.

 

“Based on the information, the Area Commander of Ikire promptly mobilised the combined team of vigilante and police detectives from Ikire Area Command to the scene.

 

“The team, however, discovered that the victim was traced from his motor park to Oke Afa Area, Apomu, where he was forcefully stopped, pulled out from his Toyota Corolla ash colour with registration number, APM 203 AA, macheted and taken away by the assailant(s),“ the police statement said.

 

Opalola said that photographs had been taken of the scene and that police tactical team, local hunters and some natives had been mobilised to comb the surrounding bush to rescue the victim.

 

She said the condition of the kidnapped victim, either dead or alive, could not be ascertained because he had not been found yet.

 

A source close to the family on Monday said his abductors have now demanded N15m ransom for his release.

 

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said Alli’s abductors contacted one of his wives, Jemila, and demanded N15m ransom.

“The kidnappers have reached out to Alli’s family. They warned us not to let anybody know about the negotiations. They have been reaching the family through Alli’s wife, Jemila. They have demanded N15m ransom but we were not allowed to speak to Alli. We are praying for his safe return,” the source said.

 

Yemisi Opalola said security personnel were combing the bushes to find him.
