The month of January 1995 will definitely leave a lasting memory on the residents of Oyo state. That month, in Ibadan, two major events took place – of Olubadan and a now mega star simply known as KITZY.
The late Oba Emmanuel Adegboyega Adeyemo celebrated his first anniversary, after being installed as the Olubadan – the most senior chieftaincy title in the city of Ibadan in 1994. While this was on, “Idupe Ooo! Eku ewu omo ooo! was also heard in another part of the city, this time it was coming from parent who were delivered of a baby boy, unable to hold their happiness, Mr and Mrs Ogunseitan then named the heavy boy AYOMIDE (my joy has arrived). Amazingly, Ayomide has brought nothing but joy to his parent and the world at large and for the past few years he has been doing this brightly through music.
Who is KITZY? (Background/Early Life)
His full name is Ayomide Ogunseitan Kolade. Stage name “KIT ZY” – He is a singer and songwriter from Nigeria born 25th January 1995, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Growing up, the young Ayomide was attracted to music. He listened to all kinds of music genre, but was mostly inspired by the likes of Bob Marley, Jimmy cliff, Sunny Ade, Ebenezer OBEY, 2 Face, and the new generation Wizkid.
Kitzy began his music journey in a church choir at a tender age. 15years later (2010) he released his first track single titled ‘’OLEGAN’’; this was later followed by ‘’Star Time”, “YLM”, “Show Them” and “JOGODO” – all these he did as an independent artiste.
The afro-vocalist in his quest to stardom have had opportunity to share stage with other Afrobeat Artist & Comedians like – Wande Coal, Dotman, MAY D, Tekno, Klever Jay, YQ, Kenny Blaq, and many others.

Music/Career/EP
The son of Ibadan lovebirds have never for once relent in his music career. In 2022, he promised to release his first EP titled UPDATE. The Extended Playlist (EP) consist of songs like – One Time, On A Low, The Matter, Wole, and OPO; all produced by Mosel Bee.
This much talked about EP is birth vie inspiration of his journey so far in the music industry, “how I keep going and never stop regardless of the ups and down days, moment, hours, minutes, and seconds,” says Kitzy.
“There are good days of love and encouragements and there are down days. I listen, learn, and choose what is good and best for me from the advice given and continue my music journey but I keep believing and doing what I love to do which is to sing, write, record, and make music. Each track is relatable to mine, or people close to me.”
The whole song is birthed from Afrobeat.
Moreso, aside from the above new year product, Super Star Kitzy was already working his next EP set to drop that same year. He believed that year was meant for him.
On a quick interview with Gbetu Tv in January 2022, while speaking on the cooking EP, Kitzy said, “Currently working on my next project which is almost halfway done and am looking to drop it the mid of 2022 or sometimes around November 2022. The project it’s self-explanatory, due to personal inspiration, love, and motivation for my love for good music all around the world and to all good music lovers. Each track is full of life and love, fun and vibe. I can’t have a conversation or speak to the whole world, but I decided to speak through this project hopefully the whole world listens, which is to each and every one to show how important they are, that you’re loved, you have an impact and don’t let the world or any hate tell you different about you do your best, live and learn, don’t hate, be inspired by great things happening around you and never give up on yourself/ dreams.”
