Our attention has been drawn to several moves by the Kwara State Government to funnel huge amounts of Taxpayer’s fund for crowd renting in a bid to fake popularity during the presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress(APC) slated for, Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

We’ve been reliably informed that agents of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had, since yesterday, been sharing fund for crowd renting machineries sourced from about five neighbouring states to help them mobilise crowd for the upcoming presidential rally in Ilorin.

As at press time, Agents from different parts of South-western states such as Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and some parts of North Central states such as Kogi, Niger have been lodged in different hotels in Ilorin, where they are being paid in millions of naira to hire people from their states and get them to the APC rally.

They have also rented lots of vehicles and paid heavily to majority of non-political actors to make up crowd during the rally. In fact, some transporters and Artisans have been paid more than 80million naira to mobilize thousands of their members for the rally.

In the same vein, the Government has concluded plan to announce an emergency one day holiday for the civil servants in the state, disguising that they wanted civil servants to go for PVCs collections, when the real agenda is to force these public servants to the apc rally ground in their droves.

Already, ahead of APC forthcoming rally tomorrow, hired agents have been fully mobilized to rent and transport crowd from Kogi, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo and other northern states to create an impression that Abdulrahaman enjoys massive support in the state.

All this, in their desperate attempt to create a false impression on the APC, a party that has lost hold of its centre – having lost 98% of her stakeholders due to poor human management and self centredness of its accidental leader in the state.

By all means, AbdulRahman wants to create an impression that he has popularity in Kwara through bogus crowd renting which expenses are on Kwara Taxpayer’s money. This is the cheapest means, a sitting government can earn popularity.

It’s unfortunate that Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq is not thinking that within 3 years of office, he and his agents have to stress themselves and go extramiles to get people to attend APC rally.

Since Abdulrahaman came into office, APC has been losing ground across the state, for which it has resorted to renting crowd at its Presidential rally to create a false impression that the Governor, who has been rendered naked by the exit of 98% Otoge crusaders, still commands followership in Kwara.

How great would it have been, if only these monies and enegry, the outgoing Kwara Governor is spending on other states for crowd renting had been judiciously channeled to sustainable projects in the state. The state would have benefited immensely in infrastructural development, by now there would have been avalanche of projects that the governor can commission at this time.

“Kwara State has massive funds accrued in allocations, IGR, grants, loans, NG-CARES, and several other funds, yet, there are nothing substantial that have been achieved, three and half years down the lane.

“While we are not surprised by all of these 11th hour face saving schemes, since its AA’s way: deceit, lies, propaganda and related phenomenal, we advise Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq to stop deceiving himself and know that Kwarans, whom he had impoverished and exposed to various insecurity threats, will collect his money, which is part of our common patrimony, and still comtinue with the “O Suwa” movement to herald a fresh sense of hope for our people.
