Kwara: More APC members join PDP in Ila-Oja and Aboto/Odo-Ode wards of Asa LG

No fewer than 29 representatives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, cutting across various polling units of Ila-Oja and Aboto/Odo-Ode wards of Asa Local Government of Kwara State, on Tuesday 4th May, 2021 freely expressed their minds to join the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the twins wards of Asa local government area of Kwara State.

The representatives of the Party, APC, who are mostly youths from Ila/Aboto-Odo-Ode wards made this known on Tuesday in Ilorin, the state capital.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the leader of the team, Mr. Hassan Waheed noted that they had compared the two major political parties and now discovered that PDP was the best political party to be associated with, stressing that those who called themselves elders and leaders in APC are mere selfish individuals who do not have the interest of the people at heart.

He explained further that their group had close to 350 APC membership across Ila-Oja and Aboto/Odo-Ode wards, assuring that all their members would be mobilized for People’s democratic party in the forthcoming general elections.

He decried the rancor ravaging the All Progressives Congress in the State, saying the party lacks cohesion, unity and common agenda that could drive home effective governance, hence they resolved collectively to join people’s democratic party.

Receiving the decampees to the party, the PDP LG party Chairman, Alh Busari Folorunsho through the ward Chairman for Ila-Oja, Alh. Rahim Oredunni commended the representatives of the decampees for their courage to leave the sinking party. He assured them of fair play in PDP.

In his remarks, Alhaji Sa’adudeen Ajelanwa noted that PDP had always been a party of justice and equity.

Alh. Rahim Oredunni urged the new members to feel at home, urging them to start mobilising support for PDP.

Giving a vote of thanks, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji applauded the foresight of the decampees and assured them that the leadership of PDP would carry them along, he emphasized the need for renewed loyalty and commitment to the Party.

Former Council Chairman, MB Yahaya who spoke through phone call lauded the commitment of the decampees, pointing out that with them in PDP their future was assured.

It will be recalled that some APC members led by former supervisory councillor for Agriculture, Mallam Murtala Akanbi from Aboto/Odo-Ode ward decamped to people’s democratic party recently.
