Kwara South holds her maiden youth conference

 

It was an unprecedented gathering of Distinguished Panelists in a 3 panel session conference at Omu Aran on 19th December, 2019.

 

The Distinguished Panelists gave the conference the glamour and fire the Youth had been craving for, towards the revitalization of Kwara South.

 

The first session was a Health and Community Development session, with Prof Christopher Odetunde(Keynote), Prof Wale Suleiman (SA Health), Dr Seyi Adigun, Dr Rafiu Ajiboye, and Kazeem Tewogbola of Enetsud.

 

The Enetsud representative challenge on Offa Hospital at the conference led to an immediate tour of the General Hospital with the SA Health, the same day.

 

The takeaways were awesome and eye opening.

 

The panel session was concluded with an assurance of getting world class hospitals in Kwara State within the next four years of the AbdulRazaq AbdulRahaman administration.

 

The second panel had the DG. Rafiu Ibrahim Foundation; Dr Bosun Lawal (Keynote), Mr Akeem Adeoye (CEO, Stanbic Ibtc Nominees, Hon Anu Ibiwoye (Former SA Agric and CEO, First line Properties), Miss Fasilat Rafiu (CEO, Bundleseelah), Prince Ayo Ajisefini (Enterprise Grooming Institute) and Mr Deji Adeleke (Danice Farms, South Africa).

 

The take aways from the session includes the enablements for a sustainable agribusiness value chain, Venturing into agriculture for exports, Enablements for funding Laudable business ideas towards sustainable empowerment and reasons to look into e – commerce like branding and marketing for Digital Marketing.

 

This would be matched with Action, as KWAYORG would be commencing viable trainings to establish the implementation of the discussions and enlightenment from January 2020.

 

The third panel session centred on Digital Media and Youth Participation in Politics and Governance had Chief Raheem Adedoyin, Dr Waheed Musa, Senior Lecturer Kwasu and Editor, Kwara at 50, Hon. Agas who represented Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi, Hon. Goke Bamidele and Mrs Bola Olukoju who delved extensively into Digital Media and women participation in Politics and Governance.

The session chronicled the significance of “money politics” , the role of youths, how they are always the beneficiaries of such largesse during elections and how the youth could remedy the status quo, towards being productive and empowered to be political team players and not only watchers every 4 years.

 

The event chaired by Senator Ajadi was attended by invited 50 participants from the 7 Local Government Areas of Kwara South.

 

At the end of the conference, an Eight Point Communique was raised and declared at the conference as recommendations for further and consequential actions.

You have all registered your names in the book of history.

 

The foundation has been laid, and we will build on this, as our training sessions would soon commence in Entrepreneurship, SME, ICT, Agribusiness, Google and Microsoft skills and Digital media.

 

To those we couldn’t reach out to, personally, and those who could not attend for one reason or the other, we appreciate and celebrate you.

 

We promise to be focused as an organization and never to derail from our objectives of Sustainable empowerment and Projecting Kwara South to the World.

 

Together, We will Rebuild Kwara South.
