A 19-year old lady, name Pratigya Thakur was arrested on Monday, 10th June and charged to court for raping her roommate at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, United States.
Pratigya Thakur was reported to University officials by the victim on Wednesday, May 29th, who then after confirmation reported the case to on Thursday, June 6th.
According to the victim, she and Thakur drank alcohol and smoked marijuana before the alleged attack.
She was singing and dancing inside Hassinger Hall dorm room as she packed up her belongings ahead of a move into another university housing unit for the summer when she decided to lie down on Thakur’s bed because her own was covered with clothing and other possessions. She felt Thakur touch her but thought she was “just trying to move her.” She awoke to find Thakur “on top of her straddling her before grabbing her breasts. Thakur then started kissing her, states Police affidavit.
“Victim reports trying to wiggle from being underneath Thakur, and Thakur stated, ‘What did you say? You want me to suck your nipple?” “Thakur then lifted victim’s sports bra and bit her nipple.”

The victim said she tried to stop Thakur’s unwanted advances, putting her arms across her body, but she felt “very intoxicated and weak,” she told police.
Thakur proceeded to slapping the victim in the face and call her “b—h” and “slut.”
The victim at this time she closed her eyes and tried to [be] somewhere else in her mind, the arrest affidavit continued.
Thakur grabbed her roommate’s hand and put it inside her vagina, then placed her fingers inside the victim’s vagina with such force that she scratched her roommate, causing her to bleed, the woman told police.
A university spokeswoman, Amanda O’Rourke confirmed to that Thakur was enrolled at the school for the spring semester, completing her second year of study.
“Students who are accused of being in violation of the student code of conduct go through a student conduct judicial process, which could lead to sanctions up to and including expulsion,”
“I cannot comment specifically on the status of this incident.”
Thakur was released from custody in Pennsylvania after posting $10,000 cash bond.
