A certain Mr. Edet Udonkang of Ikot Nseyen community in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State was on Tuesday declared missing.
Also on Tuesday, his wife had her left arm deeply cut by one Okon Effiong also addressed as ‘Okon Expenses.’
A source in the area said Udonkang’s physically challenged son was beaten up by Okon Effiong following an alleged insult.
Victim of the assault whose disability is his inability to walk was reportedly left unconscious by Effiong.
Same day, two siblings of Mrs. Udonkang approached Okon on the matter. A heated argument ensued and degenerated into fight. Effiong was beaten up, sources say.
Effiong, at around 9:00pm on Tuesday, sneaked into the Udonkang house with machete and inflicted a deep cut on Mrs. Udonkang’s left arm before fleeing to an unknown location.
Mrs Udonkang is currently in critical condition.
The matter has been reported to the police at the Ikono Division of the Nigeria Police.
Mr. Udonkang, in what is suspected to be an abduction, has not been seen since the incident occurred on Tuesday.
The assailant Okon Effiong is also nowhere to be found.
