MAPOLY: New Campus Queen found dead

A female student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Happiness Odeh has been found dead after she was abducted.

 

The deceased who was a Mass Communication Student of the institution was abducted along Iperu road while on her way to a movie set location at Ipara, Ode-remo with the consent of her parents.

 

According to sources, the victim had gone missing since then and was discovered dead a few days later.

The incident was confirmed by the leadership of the Students Union of MAPOLY in a statement issued by the Students Union President, Sodiq Ajani and the Public Relations Officer, Joy Okolie.

 

“Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Students Union (MAPSU) announces the untimely death of Miss Happiness Odeh, a Mass Communication student of MAPOLY.

 

“According to reports, she was abducted along Iperu road to her destination. The deceased left Abeokuta three days ago to visit a movie location at Ipara, Ode-Remo, with the consent of her parents.

 

The student union government also said contrary to the speculations, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY.

 

The student body said she won the award on the 3rd of August, and the movie location she attended has nothing to do with the beauty pageantry on campus.

 

“Contrary to the rumours flying around, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY. She won the award on the 3rd of August and the movie location she attended has nothing to do with the beauty pageantry on campus.

 

“We commiserate with her family, friends and colleagues. May Almighty God grant us all the fortitude to bear this painful loss. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord,” the statement read.

 

The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.

 

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Candidate in Ogun Central, Chief Olumide Aderinokun paid a condolence visit to the family of late Happiness Odeh on Monday morning.

CHIEF ADERINOKUN VISITS HAPPINESS ODEH'S FAMILY IN ABEOKUTA

On his return from a foreign trip in the early hours of Monday, Chief Aderinokun consoled the bereaved family in their Abeokuta residence and he promised to assist the family in every capacity.

 

He described Happiness death as one too many and he called on the government to curtail insecurity in Ogun State.

 

Also, Gov. Dapo Abiodun via his verified Facebook page stated;

More than tragic is news of the carnage of Happiness Odeh, student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (Mapoly), Abeokuta by men of the underworld. This gruesome incident has taken the breath of one of Ogun State’s budding fourth estate professionals. My heart is with the family of late Happiness over the loss.

I have directed security agencies to go after perpetrators of the crime.

As we remain committed to avoiding a recurrence, I reassure the good people of Ogun State of the security of lives and property.
