May D: I Have Parted Ways With Davido

Nigerian entertainer, May D has revealed that he is no longer signed onto Davido’s DMW label after he penned an agreement with the label some time ago.

 

May D made his submission in an interview with rapper Ikechukwu, better known as Killz.

 

May D, who joined Davido’s DMW at one point in his career, has disclosed that he is no longer a member of the team because his self-owned record label, Confam Records, is now fully supported and promoted and he now releases music from his label.

 

Fans of Davido expected much from him when he signed onto the DMW label but very little was heard of him in terms of hit songs and dominating streaming charts.

Also, Akinmayokun Awodumila better known as May D has stated that he was never compensated by P-Square for any of the gigs he did during his time with the group.

 

May D, who already had a few of success songs while with PSquare and Jude Okoye, revealed that he was never paid for any of the shows he played while with the label.

 

The artiste who left Square Records in 2013 to start his own label named Confam Records, stated that everything was well between him and Square Records till he sought a contract.

 

He explained that he joined the label without signing documents, and even after he had hit songs, he remained unsigned because he preferred being an artist. However, things took a turn for the worst when he became more corporate and requested a contract.
