Meet Sam Ubachukwu, Anambra 2021 Businessman

Pharm (Sir) Sam Ubachukwu is a pharmacist; a philanthropist; an industrialist; a titled man and a business tycoon who hails from Ichi Town in present Anambra state.

 

He graduated from faculty of Pharmacy; University of Nigeria in 1985. After graduation and service years; Pharm Sam Ubachukwu established his first company – Kings Chemist & Cosmetics Ltd, which later gave birth to Megachem Nigeria Limited; a household name in manufacturing, distribution and importation of Pharmaceutical products, Foods and cosmetics. The company has over 10 fast moving quality products which include its flagship NYCIL baby range of products, Unicafe brands, Ridielac baby foods and Just range of products among others.

Pharmacist Sam Ubachukwu does not compromise on quality. He is a firm believer in maintaining standards over profit making. For him, being cheap is even more expensive. A manufacturer should maintain the quality of his product, even if it translates to increase in price, than compromise the standard for profit. It is akin to betrayal of trust of the consumers.

 

In an interview with him, he advised consumers to take serious, importers or manufacturers who use their own products. According to him, producers of any product should promote it by using such products personally. People who chide away from using their products show that they have no faith in them and such products should be avoided by consumers.



Pharm(Sir) Sam Ubachukwu belong to the class of business men with integrity and unflinching resolve to stick to standards. They find a balance between quality, and profit while making sure that their customers get the most value. To them, the customer is KING.

He is equally a FELLOW PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY OF NIGERIA (FPSN).

Furthermore, he is very big on corporate social responsibilities. He contributes immensely to his business host community and extends same gestures to his community in Anambra.



He has single-handedly built roads and delivered clean drinking water among other laudable initiatives.

It also tells a story to up and coming manufacturers, encouraging them to stay true to their standards in order to make their brands a lasting one and gain the confidence of consumers. Meanwhile, on Thursday 30th, December 2021, the Philanthropist, Chief Pharm. (Sir) Sam. Ubachukwu (Ichie Duduga of Ichi) was honored with a Chieftaincy title, by the traditional ruler of Nnokwa, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Ajamma (Oranyelu IV Nnokwa) in Anambra State.

With this honour, the philanthropist becomes the ‘Ede Nnokwa’.

In his remark, the Monarch, Igwe Ajamma said, he honoured Chief Ubachukwu with the chieftaincy title in recognition of his contributions to the promotion of Igbo cultural heritage, and his contributions to the society.
