Gbetu TV (News They Are Not Talking About)
In what we have come to recognise as the time-wasting, cover-up for activity that we have come to recognise from the Nigerian judiciary system.
Hon. Justice Nkeonye Evelyn Maha, CHOSE not to listen to the case of Omoyele Sowore, claiming that she could not overturn the ruling of her “learned brother” despite compelling arguments against same by Femi Falana.
It is possible that the honourable judge might be confused as to what an appeal is: a process in which cases are reviewed; where parties request a formal change to an official decision.
We have never seen a judge argue so desperately that they do not have the power to listen to a case. It would have been amusing if it were not so frightening for the meaning of justice in Nigeria. What happens to Nigerians who do not have access to brilliant minds like Femi Falana SAN? What happens to those who beg and borrow just to make a court case appearance only to be informed by a judge that she cannot, in fact, carry out the tasks the Law has burdened her with.
If Justice in Nigeria is not a sham, then what is?
The Take-It-Back movement will not relent. No matter how many Justice Nahas we come across.
