Mr/Miss Foodie Nigeria- FOODIE NIGERIA PRESS RELEASE; REGISTER

Mr/Miss Foodie Nigeria, conceptualized in 2016, is projected to be a platform to discover, improve and reward the best cooking talents amongst youths/students in Nigeria with the drive to build a healthy cooking and eating habit.

 

A team of pragmatic youths, Spare-headed by Knight Oseni Oluwasegun, the Chief Project Consultant, amongst other leaders, under a formidable brand called ‘iHouse Initiative’, conceived this vision and put together a life-impacting six- month event that would change positively the cooking and eating habits among Nigerians. “The key to a man’s heart is through is belly” stated Mr. Williams Charles, The Group Head, Operational and Tactical Planning for the project.



At the press conference, which was graced by Ambassadors from various notable tertiary institutions and media houses all over Nigeria was held on Saturday, 22nd February 2020 at the Pelican International Hotels, Lekki, Lagos to unveil Foodie Nigeria Project. At the media event, the vision as well as activities involved in the project were clearly stated.

 

At the event, The Brand Communications Manager (Mr. Victor Richards Ezeamaka), in his introductory speech said “Mr/Miss Foodie Nigeria 2020 project is envisioned as a stage set for contacting young people, particularly students, who have keen interest in cooking and food consumption as well as honor food professionals who incorporate consumable products into innovative values for consumption”.

 

In his word, Mr. Okoro Uche Emmanuel, (The Project Coordinator), said the Food Nigeria is channeled to benefit youth nationwide with mega-packed entertainment and empowerment with preference given to the practice of proper cooking and food consumption.



The National Youth Coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Sumbo, highlighted the 3 stages involved and state zoning patterns as followed: Lagos State (Zone 1), Abuja State (Zone 2), Ogun State (Zone 3), Imo State (Zone 4), Kaduna State (Zone 5) and Osun State (Zone 6).

 

In line with the schedule, the CAMPUS VISITATION comes up from March to May followed by ‘STORM A CAMPUS AUDITION’ from June to August, and finally the 60 finalists will be camped in Lagos at a date to be released. These activities give consideration to the various tertiary institutions academic calendar.

 

The Grand Prize winner will receive One Million Naira worthy of Prize, iHouse Sponsored kitchen equipment, iHOUSE CHEF OF THE YEAR AWARD, plus other mouth-watering benefits, Nine other winners will shared Two Million Naira worthy of Prize. Six emerging winners from the zonal finalist level will also be named and appreciated with resourceful consolation prizes.“



A panel of judges, to be managed by the celebrated food production manager of the event, Mr. Akeem Olowoporoku (Mr. Trills), will determine the winning entry at the final stage of the competition. The Project Welfare director Miss Tiamuyi Aminat Adesewa, disclosed in her interview with the media that, “Good food cooking practices is the heart of the home, traditionally the gathering place that bounds family as one. We are presenting a space where one can cook, work, play games and really just live. We think it should be the most welcoming room in the house that reflects your own unique personality”.

 

iHouse Initiative is on a verge of actualizing this brilliant and resourceful vision. On successful completion of this project, it is believed that a large number of youth will have a positive orientation about healthy cooking and this will help in building a healthy family.



We believe in this dream and we seek more involvement from Corporate organizations, ranging from FMCG companies, Professionalized food Service Firms, Advertising and Public Relation firms on food consumption matters, notable elites in the business, entertainers in the music industries, to the lovers of food and many more, are all welcomed to be actively involved and supportive, all to bring this planned event to a great fruition.
