N10 Million Debt: Valentine Ozigbo denies faceoff with Ifeanyi Ubah

Valentine Ozigbo, one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) frontrunner in the race for Anambra 2021 Governorship sit, has debunked a report circulated on social media platforms accusing Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of owing him N10 million naira and suggesting that the two politicians are at loggerheads.

In a statement issued from Awka, signed by his media aide, Ephraim Adiele, on Friday, February 12, 2021, Mr Ozigbo condemned the act of fabricating fake news and falsely attributing it to politicians with the view of causing disaffection and confusion.

Ozigbo disassociated himself and his VCO Campaign Organisation from the said statement, titled, “Anambra Politics: You Can’t Be Owing Me Ten Million Naira And Still Order Your Thugs To Destroy My Rally – Ozigbo Tells Ifeanyi Ubah – Reveals More Dangerous Facts About Ifeanyi Ubah”.

The respected business leader reiterated that he conducts his politics and communication consistent with his personality, which is respectful, honest, and devoid of bitterness.

He also emphasized that under no circumstances would he ever issue a public statement which denigrates or maligns Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, or any other fellow political aspirant, or any individual for that matter.

“At no time did Mr Valentine Ozigbo grant an interview or issue a statement in which he denigrated Senator Ifeanyi Uba,” the statement read in part.

“Let it be on record that Ozigbo has never had any personal financial dealings with Ubah, and consequently, there is no way Ubah would be indebted to him.

“The mischievous report, which originated from an unknown source, is inconsistent with the personality of Valentine Ozigbo, who is a man of peace, devoid of bitterness, and a bridge-builder.”

Recall that barely a week ago, Ozigbo had cause to condemn “the politics of violence and use of fake news as a tool for propaganda to cause disaffection” when he debunked a similar fake statement attacking Honourable Chris Azubogu. The fake statement, which was issued from an unknown source, had wrongly accused the federal lawmaker of orchestrating the ugly attacks against his #Walk4Health event of Saturday, February 6, 2021, organized by Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (VCO) Foundation.

Ozigbo has since issued a statement exonerating his fellow PDP aspirants of sponsoring the attacks he believes were sponsored by agents of disharmony. He assured his followers and party faithful that the relevant security agencies are investigating the matter. Till their findings are made known, speculations as to who could have been responsible for the violence should be avoided.
