Nigeria superstar and troubled artiste, Naira Marley, on Thursday, 24th October, tweeted in distress on why Nigerians don’t consider him as a “Fellow Youth”.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had preferred an 11-count charge against the Naira Marley bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud, ever since then he has been considered a ‘black sheep’.
According to the charge, the defendant allegedly committed the offences on different dates between Nov. 26, Dec.11, 2018, and May 10.
The charge alleged that Fashola and his accomplices conspired to use different Access Bank ATM Cards to defraud their victims.
It said that the defendant allegedly used Access Card number 5264711020433662 issued to another person, in a bid to obtain fraudulent financial gains.
He was said to have possessed these counterfeit credit cards, belonging to different cardholders, with intent to defraud, which also amounted to theft.
The offences contravenes the provisions of Sections 1 23 (1) (b), 27 (1}, 33, 33(9) Cyber Crime (Prohibition) Prevention Act, 2015.
The “Am I a Yahoo Boy” musician, was arraigned on May 20 before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, however denied the charges.
Naira Marley on Thursday evening tweeted, “If I’m a #badinfluence I’m still trying to work out what influenced me to be bad. Why don’t y’all care? I’m a youth too.”
To buttress this point he also dropped a new song titled “Bad Influence ( #badinfluence ).
The song “Bad Influence“ is a thoughtful song with good and meaningful lyrics (we never experridit).
Naira Marley talks about the people that are going around saying he is a bad influence to the youth and the society in general. He says they are hypocrites because nobody is holy we all have our bad sides and hidden agendas.
He shares the important thing we should be concern about which is the government, instead on building schools and hospitals they are building prisons and their mansions. They also cancel weed for imported cigar, when you take locally grow product its a crime but you can smoke foreign packaged wraps.
