Ginger & Detergent Solution: Ticks on Dogs is annoying. I have had to raise about three dogs and then I have raised eight male puppies, so if I actually tell you anything about puppies, you should really take it as an advice from a dog expert.
I love pets, I recently had to start living with a cat, I never knew cat are interesting animals too but the journey is been great notwithstanding.
Back to our topic, getting rid of ticks on animal most especially your dog.
I have tried lots of ‘powder substance’ but sometimes I run out this things and most times can’t get them easily due to distance, forgetfulness etc,.
While reading some articles months back; I know ginger has anti-inflammatory benefits but I never knew it would kill and reduce tick from dog’s body until I read this article online that shows it has been used, though on cows, so I decided to put on my scientist thinking cap.
I grinded some ginger, filtered it and of course spray on my dog’s body. I think due to the heat effect it was hot for his body (so you need to know if your dog breed have the strength to take this) it took him some while to shake it off but he finally did, after which I did bath for him.
After some few days I realised the tick were reduced, then I decided to try the Detergent plus salt solution, I did this and it went great also.
The fact that it easily form leather helped me wash him well, more like when I’m bathing him with his shampoo.
Now, before this ginger and detergent solution, my puppy has been battling with serious tick, I really did got fed up. I couldn’t play with him, I guess it was the period and also the mother that his mum once in a while goes out of the house to play so she might have brought tick and since he is still young, it was easy for those ticks to feast on him.
After I studied about the ginger solution, I have been able to curb the presence of ticks in his body.
You know how they can’t really sleep well once they are infested with ticks! I really felt bad and the ginger solution plus detergent +salt solution bath once in a while has really stopped this unrest.
I also did try the lemon solution, the essential oil, none of them really work for him, I guess maybe his Breed needed something a bit harsh than those above mentioned, because I have read about those above mentioned solution and dog owners testified they really worked for tick but on my Jack Russell terrier breed, those solution is a “NO”. The ginger solution worked, and the Detergent +salt solution also helped but you have to be sure of percentage so the ginger ain’t too much for the dog to handle.
