The National Broadcast Commission, in a letter dated Monday, 6th August, issued a total ban on the viral song “This is Nigeria” by Falz, “Iscaba” by Wande Cole and “See Mary See Jesus” by Dj Kaywise.
The song inspired by Childish Gambino – “This Is America” is said to posses “Vulgar and Indecent Lyrics”, as well as “Iscaba” by Wande Cole and “See Mary See Jesus” by Dj Kaywise featuring Olamide.
The attention was drawn by and letter issued to JODAJ Global Communications Limited, owners of Jay FM 101.9. This also got them a fine of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only.

Lines of focus are “this is Nigeria; look how we living now, everybody be criminal” – Falz; “Girl you dey make me Kolo, shaking the ass like kolo” – Wande Cole and “See Mary, See Jesus” – Kaywise.
That of Kaywise was due to the casual use of important Christian names “Mary” and “Jesus”, regarded as sacred by the faith, thereby contravenes Section 4.3.1e.
