NDDC Probe: Tunji-Ojo resigns; hands over to Ereyitomi
The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Monday has stepped down in the probe of alleged contract scam in the ministry.
Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s action came after top officials of the NDDC walked out on his committee last Thursday, during the probe of an alleged mismanagement and illegal spending by the commission, specially a total sum of N81.5bn spent between January and July, 2020.
The Interim Management Committee of the NDDC had last week requested that Tunji-Ojo should not preside over the probe as he had also been accused of “crime” against the commission.
Tunji-Ojo made the decision known during the ongoing probe of the commission, noting, that his Deputy, Mr. Thomas Ereyitomi would succeed him in acting capacity.
