Its a shame to NNPC, WRPC, NPDC for not giving Palliative to hosts communities

Hosts communities to the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC and other subsidiaries of the Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation, NNPC say it is a shame to federal government of Nigeria for not paying adequate attention and giving palliative to their hosts communities especially during this COVID-19 lockdown hardship faced by them.

The hosts communities while expressing their anger Tuesday 222nd April, noted that the five distinct hosts communities of Ubeji, Ifie-Kporo, Aja-Etan, Ijalla-Ikeren and Ekpan are not happy with WRPC, NNPC for their negligence in such a period of difficulties, without food support and other things that may cushion their sufferings.

Chairman of Aja-Etan one of the WRPC host communities, Mr. Billy Ekele urged NNPC , WRPC and its subsidiaries to do something urgent to alleviate suffering of the indigent people in their hosts communities.

He berated the federal government for their “I don’t care attitude to people of oil refining communities” even as they role out conditional cash transfer to people in the other parts of the country without considering oil and gas hosts communities in the Niger Delta that produce the natural golden resources that sustains the economy of the country”.

Mr. Ekele averred that the hosts communities will be hard against NNPC saying that if they NNPC, WRPC is not ready to assist their hosts communities they should give way for others to come in to manage it and do the needful as quickly as possible.

Some private depots operating in the area were commended for their show of love and care to their hosts communities through palliative provisions.

They commended Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for providing palliative for vulnerable people in the state as well as the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency, National Assembly, Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, Hon.
