The Senior Special Assistant on Media to Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Ben Atu has described Governor Godwin Obaseki as a blessing to Edo State.

In a statement titled ’’Political Structure, Credible Candidate and Acceptability’’ Atu highlighted the administration’s achievements.

‘’The government has done a lot for the people of Edo State, particularly in the areas that have direct impact on people. Government has done a lot to ensure primary and secondary health service delivery. Government has created employment for our youths’’.

The media aide emphasized Obaseki’s commitment to the rule of law in the best tradition of democracy in Edo State and the administration’s reform programmes- civil service and pension reform, educational and infrastructural development.

‘’Godwin Obaseki and Phillip Shaibu are popular because of what they have done in Edo State. They created an enabling environment for people to create wealth. They have endeared themselves to the wonderful people of Edo State’’.

Atu underscored sheer ingenuity, foresight and hard work of Obaseki and Shaibu.

‘’Edo State belongs to all of us. Obaseki is sincere and committed to the growth of Edo State. The feat Edo State has recorded in the areas of health, judiciary and rural development among others is enviable. Obaseki has the fear of God and a strong sense of justice, fair play and equity.’’

Specifically, Atu emphasized Obaseki’s democratic credentials, exposure, experience, vision, character, integrity and the commitment to develop the state.

‘’Edo State is one of the few states where salaries are paid as when due. The tradition institution has received a boost and respect under this administration. New areas have been created to bring governance nearer to the people. Peace reigns in Edo State. Godwin Obaseki and Comrade Phillip Shaibu deserve second term.’’

He praised Obaseki for taking positive measures towards attracting investments to Edo State, creating and managing resources and helping humanity to grow.

‘’God is on the side of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Comrade Phillip Shaibu. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is on ground in Edo State. Ize-Iyamu has nothing in store for the good people of Edo State. PDP will beat Adams Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu and Audu in their wards. Edo PDP has what it takes to win the September governorship election.’’

Atu also expressed his views on the 2024 governorship election and divisive insinuations in the state.

‘’In order to put the minds of the good and responsible people at rest, I want to say that no such meeting ever took place. This is a typical example of falsehood.’’
