Ogun Muslim Women's Organization Pays Patients' Hospital Bill

A Muslim Women’s Organization in Ogun State, Sisters Of Junnah (SOJ), Abeokuta Branch paid a charity visit to the General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, the State capital and paid some patients medical bill while admonishing them to always have faith in Allah, the Omnipotent and omnipresent.

The Zonal Coordinator of the Organization, Mrs. Rashidat Alli said that organization felt the pains and agonies of the patients, saying that they should be prayerful, patient and have confidence in God almighty.

She noted that the organization came into existence as a result of urgent need to bring succor to the less well-off in the society, especially in the area of medical care, educational assistance, enlightenment on food scarcity, skill acquisitions and empowerment.

“Helping people who are less well-off is a key aspect of Islam, and Allah, Subuhanahu Wa Ta’ala (SWT), said that; Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury for them their reward is with their Lord; on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve”.

Alli said that it was imperative to visit the hospital as part of good deeds mentioned in the Holy Quran, and giving succour to the needy among them, noting that some patients were not financially bouyant to pay for his/her medical bills, whether for discharge or to buy some drugs.

According to her, “The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said; “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three; a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a child who prays for them,” Hadith, Muslim.

“So, we have some outlined educative weekly programmes on the WhatsApp loop and we do have monthly projects which is varies each months, so as make sure that we are touching lives and making people and Ummah community a better one,” Alli said

She further reiterated the organization’s commitment on their monthly projects which includes; visitation of hospitals, correctional centres, orphanage homes, operation mop-up, that’s giving out the used or unused clothes to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the needy as well.

She noted that their Ramadan care projects and Lectures also among the good deeds of the organization, noting that giving foods and clothes to the needy, child molestation, child abuse campaign, cancer awareness walk and screening, training of members during meetings, sisters’ hangout and sallah funfair were not left out.

In her remarks, the Head of Department, Apex Nursing of the Hospital, Mrs. Tajat Oluremi Mosuro appreciated the organization for the kind gesture, noting that it could be of help for some patients who could not afford their drugs and medical bills.

While appreciating the organization, Mrs. Mosuro appealed to them to always visit and remember their hospital while executing their projects for the betterment of the less previledge in the society.

Two of the beneficiaries, Hassan Janet and Kareem Shakirat thanked the organization for the cash gifts, saying that it would cater for their discharge, drug and medical bills.
