Ogun pilgrims set to leave Medinah for Mecca

Pilgrims from Ogun State who are currently in Medinah for hajj rites are set to leave for Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for visitations of historical areas in preparation for this year Hajj.

The Chairman, Ad-hoc Committee of the State Muslim Pilgrims’ Board, Imam (Dr.) Tajudeen Ashaye, who addressed the pilgrims during a sensitisation programme organised for the pilgrims in Medina, charged them to remain focus, to enable them perform every supplication as stipulated by the ternate of Islam, in line with the rules of the holy pilgrimage.

 

Imam Ashaye stated that Hajj activities in various capacities were necessary to give an insight into what was obtainable during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet Muhammed, noting that successful completion of rites would afford pilgrims to earn appropriate reward from Allah.

 

He said, “the activities in Mecca is different compared to what is obtainable in Medinah, where we visited historical sites. Make sure you get prepared, remain focused, have positive thinking, and intention, and desist from any act of indiscipline as Ogun State is known for peace and tranquillity, so as to complete the tasks ahead’’.

Contributing, a member of the Committee, Imam AbdulLateef Ismail who highlighted the importance of lined-up activities in Mecca, including Safar and Marwa, Tawaf among others enjoined the pilgrims to maintain decorum and decency, pointing out that women should always dress well during and after the holy pilgrimage.

 

In their remarks, two of the pilgrims, Alhaja Idayat Egbebi and Alhaji Babatunde Mutair commended the efforts of the Board officials for the enlightenment, promising to abide by the rules and guidelines of Hajj.
