According to her, “I was in my compound at about some minutes past 8am when I noticed a man, Bello Adetunju, from a welding workshop beside my house urinating in my compound.

“I approached him to caution him. He started insulting me and before I knew it, he slapped and rained numerous punches on me. Before people could intervene, my nose was bleeding. I reported to the Police and I was referred to the hospital for first aid treatment and he footed the bill.

“I later had to send a petition letter to the Ministry of Women Affairs, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, days after he started bragging around that he intentionally beat me because I was too proud. I used to greet him years back but I stopped greeting him when he stopped replying my greetings.

“I was invited to Abeokuta last week and an invitation letter was sent to him too. He went to the Baale’s palace so they could beg me. I was invited to a meeting at the Baale’s palace and the chiefs begged me to withdraw the case, so we could settle it within the area. I refused and insisted that he should appear in Abeokuta on the given date and time.

“One of the chiefs said no police can arrest him if he doesn’t appear, she said I should go on with court case if that’s what I want because they have connections in Abeokuta and I’ll be the one to get tired.

“He didn’t go to Abeokuta and they are already trying to apply politics. The chiefs, the man and his wife, have been spreading false report about me having one sickness that cause me to bleed from the nose since I was a little kid and he just slapped me.

“I’ve been in the area for close to 20 years and I’ve never had issues with anyone. I really wish to get justice because I’ve not able to work since the incident happened, I’ve been indoor.”
