Ogun to Commence Mass Registration of Property title Documents

The Ogun State Government has revealed that it will soon commence mass registration of property title documents to enable owners of dwelling houses and commercial properties register their assets and obtain necessary building permits at affordable rates within a fixed time frame.

 

The Special Adviser/Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Aina Salami, made the revelation at a stakeholders’ meeting in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with the theme: “Delivering Services with Timeline in View; Possibilities and Challenges”.

Salami, in a statement signed his Information Officer, Ms. Morolayo Fadairo, pointed out that the programme would focus on in-depth review of all the activities being rendered to the public and drastically reduce number of days by which transactions are carried out in the Bureau to the barest minimum, noting that the present administration is committed to creating a conducive environment for business enterprises to thrive in the State.

 

“This programme will enable owners of dwelling houses and commercial properties to register their assets and obtain necessary building permits at affordable rates within a fixed time frame”, he said.

 

 

The Director-General noted that the move would further support investors in achieving their intended business objectives, highlighting some of the Bureau’s achievements which included improvement of the State’s Geographical Information System (GIS), automation of the agency’s activities, among others.

 

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Tunji Odunlami maintained that government is determined to improving the rank in the ease of doing business by bringing even development to the nooks and crannies of the State, pledging unflinching support of his Ministry for successful implementation of the proposed programme.

 

Tpl. Odunlami said “this will be felt by the generality of the people in creating an enduring economic development and individual prosperity of the people of Ogun State”.

 

Contributing, his counterpart in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe appreciated the Bureau’s effort in creating public awareness, which would further provide better services to the people.

 

 

In his remark, the Chairman, Real Estate Developer Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, Mr. Oyeyemi Okusanya lauded the State government for creating conducive environment for private sector to flourish in processing landed title documents, thus creating investor’s friendly participation.
