Oh my one time Nigeria with almost zero case of suicide

Nigeria used to be an African country where past President’s complain of too much money and resources, the problem was how to spend it. Everyone longed to be in Nigerian from all over the world. Since after independence to 1999 there was still much to admire in Nigeria.

Sadly the advent of democracy have created a class of looters that have not only emptied our coffers but left us in huge debt by both Federal and State government. Nigeria is becoming a bliss of heaven to only the elites and horror of hell for many hard-working but poor citizens without connection. Suicide was so foreign to Nigeria, infact our fore-parents had little or no reason to contemplate suicide.

The case is different today, life is becoming horrible with some people chosing suicide instead of dying because of unemployment, hunger or the frustration occasioned by insecurity. Pensioners work and save money in the name of contributory pension only to be further stolen by the elite class, graduate fly around our streets with certificates that are increasingly becoming frustrating pieces of papers, salary no longer take workers home with many left in debt though working their ass out on daily basis, food and commodity prices are skyrocketing each day with no corresponding increase in wages, loved ones and bread winners are kidnapped everywhere and people being killed by bandits and criminals. More people are sliping into the poverty lane because of the failure of leadership.

We may be quick to blame anyone for commiting suicide, well it is cowardly to commit suicide by all standard. However Nigeria is pushing it’s best to frustrating situations that are making many to contemplate suicide.

Please dear Nigerians let’s make a difference to help each other when the world crumbles around them. The elites are surely not interested in us besides sharing our common resources amongst themselves. We must increase the bonds between us to save ourselves from the pangs of our leaders of today. Many Nigerians today consider living more painful than dying and are contemplating suicide to just leave the painful world. In all situations we must build a reason to live because we need each other, suicide is never an option however horrible the situation we face.
