COMMUNIQUE ON ANAMBRA ‘2021 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION BY INDEPENDENT LEADERS FORUM (ILF) AFTER THE MEETING HELD AT AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2020.

WE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:

  1. We reiterate that we are desirous, committed, dedicated and shall put all efforts within all and every available means, towards having an elected PDP governor in Anambra State come 2021.

  1. That NO YOUTH in PDP or anywhere in Anambra State would be used in any guise, form or manner to truncate, jeopardize or sabotage the chances of PDP winning the governorship election in Anambra State in 2021; EXCEPT THE BIOLOGICAL CHILDREN OF SUCH A LEADER OR STAKEHOLDER.

  1. We commend the ILF Peace Committee led by Hon. Amedu Udoji (Chairman), Hon. Ejiofor Egwuatu (Secretary) and other members, for a thorough and painstaking job carried out by visiting 25 PDP stakeholders in Anambra State and the FCT, Abuja, towards resolving the lingering Anambra State PDP leadership crisis. We hereby adopt the recommendations of the Peace Committee intoto.

  1. We hereby urge the Leader of PDP in Anambra state, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, to convene a stakeholders meeting within 21days, to find a lasting solution to the lingering crisis in PDP Anambra state. We wish to use this medium to state that failure to convene a stakeholders meeting after the aforementioned time line, we shall have no alternative than to mobilise all youth organisations and pressure groups in the party to take actions to put a stop once and for all to these quagmires.

  1. Having in mind that there are about 3 conflicting Wards/Local Governments Executive lists of Anambra state PDP filed in about four (4) different courts of law; we hereby propose a thorough, holistic, all inclusive and properly harmonised Wards and Local Governments Executives, to accommodate every stakeholder in their locality that would be adopted and filed in the concerned courts of law as Terms of Settlement and adopted as consent judgements of the respective courts of law.

  1. We suggest that the members of the proposed “Harmonisation Committee” are: 1. Sen. Stella Oduah (Chairperson), 2. Chief Osita Chidoka (Deputy Chiarman), 3. Hon. Chuchu Onyema (Representative of the House of Reps. members), 4. Hon. Onyebuchi Offor (Representative of the Anambra State House of Assembly members), 5. Dr. Alex Obiogbolu (Representing Stakeholders) 6. Barr. Clem Ezika (Representing Sir. Ndubuisi Nwobu), 7. Barr. Bright Nebedum (Representing Chief Chris Uba), 8. Barr. Sopulu Ezeonwuka (Representing Evang. Linus Ukachukwu), 9. Barr. Okey Muo Aroh (NEC member), and 10. ILF (Secretariat).

  1. We hereby issue a final WARNING NOTICE to the Leaders and Stakeholders of the party to desist from acts capable of jeopardising the peace efforts of ILF. We advise them to toe the line of peace, and adhere to the anticipated recommendations of the proposed “Harmonisation Committee” in the overall interest of the party.

  1. We specifically ADVISE the Deacon Austin Umahi led zonal executive and some NWC members of PDP to desist from actions and comments capable of destroying or further disintegrating the unity of PDP in Anambra state and fanning the embers of discord among the members.

  1. We commend His Excellency, Prince Uche Secondus on his quick intervention in correcting the August 14, 2020 media briefing carried out by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

  1. Again, we emphasise that we would stop at nothing in mobilizing the PDP and Anambra state youths in ensuring the success of PDP in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra State.

May peace and unity reign, as NO INDIVIDUAL IS BIGGER THAN THE PARTY!

Signed:
