Bella Hadid can really make anything look chic.
On Sunday, the supermodel stepped out in New York City’s TriBeCa in loose black leather pants and a teeny long-sleeved crop top from Ukrainian brand Bevza. She finished the sleek look with a pair of Brenda black square-toed boots by Miista, a long necklace from Chanel, purple-tinted oval sunglasses, and an exposed black thong—her toned core on full display.
The Matrix-esque streetwear look (sans the G-string) was taken straight out of Bevza’s fall/winter 2022 collection—based on love through time and distance—which just debuted on the runway and is not yet available for purchase. The wax seal on Hadid’s top resembles the traditional seal on an envelope and was crafted from post-consumer recycled materials sourced in Ukraine.
The brand, like most in Ukraine, has had a difficult time continuing to design, produce, and distribute products due to the ongoing war with Russia. “Please note that due to the war state in Ukraine all worldwide deliveries from our Kyiv warehouse will take between 2 weeks to a 1 month to arrive and all purchases are final,” the website states.
Bella Hadid has been an avid supporter of Ukraine as the country continues to fight for its freedom amid President Vladimir Putin’s army’s bombings. In March, she and fellow supermodel sister Gigi Hadid donated all their Fashion Week earnings to Ukrainians in need and displaced Palestinians.
“Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE. 🕊,” Gigi wrote in an Instagram post announcing the news.
