On my way Home by Okoroji Chidiebere Alexander

On my way Home;
I chants,
Praying for a change,
Praying for a another chance,
For forgiveness,
Hoping my dreams manifest,
Wishing my love life, I will overcome,
Feeling nothing at the end.

Is boring at home,
So noisy also,
Though, it’s said;
There is no place as home,
But my home is my heart,
The coloured red, blue and white,
The only place I’m always right,
For the future forever bright.

On my way home,
I encountered,
The obstacles befalling me,
My failings
And my wrongdoings,
I was encouraged to make peace,
With myself,
As I walk a little further,
I was relaxed and free,
The emptiness was a blessing,
The mining air,
Was an Eminence
It embraced me with affection,
And heal the wounds of depression.

On my way Home,
I realized the things I missed,
The moments I refused to have fun,
I find the world at peace,
For a minute I forget I’m heading home,
Over here, the people are easy-going,
Their world is free and beautiful,
Every lives matter,
And Every moments counts,
Ohh! I need to bring this home,
Our culture has been abusive,
And our ways; offensive
I’m heading home to build,
An environment that’s conducive.
