Ondo APC faction disowns Otetubi, speaks on suit against Adetimehin

Ondo APC faction disowns Otetubi, speaks on suit against Adetimehin

The Acting Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) faction in Ondo State, Mr Olu Olatuja has said it had not withdrawn the case it instituted against the Ade Adetimehin state led executives of the party.

Briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Akure, Olatuja said the suit against the Adetimehin-led exco was instituted by 13 people and withdrawal of one person would not stop the suit.

Former Chairman of the faction, Mr Idowu Otetubi had on Sunday pitched his tents with the Adetimehin led executive and announced that he had withdrawn the suit in court.

Ade Adetimehin is the chairman of APC that is working with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the state.

Olatuja further revealed that the Adetimehin led executive remains Illegal in the state and that his factional executives would continue its litigations in court without fear or intimidation.

Olatuja advised APC leaders within and outside the state to shun the intrigues of Akeredolu-led government and that of Ade Adetimehin, factional exco, saying money would not buy the conscience of Ondo state people.

“Our attention has been drawn to the social media publication and press release of our former Chairman Hon. Idowu Otetubi stating that our executive committee has withdrawn from the suit filed against Mr Ade Adetimehin led state, LG and Ward Executive Committee of our great party ( APC) in 0ndo State.”

“Consequently, the remaining executive members met and mandated the state Deputy Chairman in person of Hon. (TpL) Henry Olu Olatuja to continue in acting capacity as Chairman.”

“We wish to state categorically that there was no time our executive committee met and discussed such move in recent time having known that our case at the Federal High Court of Nigeria, in Akure Judicial Division holding at Akure will be coming up middle of next month.”

“We are of opinion that, the then chairman in person of Hon. Idowu Otetubi has compromised his integrity and position.”

“This is in an attempt to frustrate the gubernatorial ambition of various aspirants within the party.”

“His deflection to the Govemor’s group would definitely allow for proper monitoring of our case and will stop the unnecessary exploitation of party leaders. The spirit of seeking for genue redress has now been revigorated,” he said.

Olatuja also said his faction also supported agitation for direct primary to be used in the coming governorship election in the state.

The group officially suspended the former factional chairman and secretary, Otetubi and Gani Mohammed, who had jointly joined forces with Gov. Akeredolu for his second term bid.

They pledged the loyalty of the group to the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and the Senate Deputy Leader, Ajayi Boroffice, appealing for justice in the matter.
