Ondo Assembly wants Akeredolu N30bn bond was spent – – Lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly on Wednesday, 13th April, raised questions on how the N30billion bond approved by the House was accessed and spent by Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s led administration.

The legislators, who queried the state government over the N30billion Bond, had last week invited Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, to appear before it and explain how the bond was utilized.

Addressing the House, Akinterinwa explained that about N14.8billion had been accessed by the state government out of the initial N30billion bond raised and approved by the lawmakers.

He explained that the N14. 8billion was spent on some of the ongoing projects in the state which included the building of teaching hospitals in Akure and Ondo, construction of fly-over on Lagos- Benin express way in Ore and the Ikare road dualization project.

He also disclosed that the N14.2billion would be accessed soon, saying all the required documents had been perfected to ensure the release of the second tranche.

The finance commissioner, who assured the lawmakers that the second tranche of the bond would accommodate renovation of the state House of Assembly complex said it was not captured in the first tranche.
