NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ONDO STATE STUDENTS
(NATIONAL SENATE ARM)26th May, 2020.
NOTICE OF IMMEDIATE IMPEACHMENT AND DISMEMBERMENT OF SEN. AKINDOYO AS SENATE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ONDO STATE STUDENTS
Exclusive greetings from the Senate of the National Association of Ondo State Students.
We wish to bring to the notice of the members of our Association, Stakeholders, the Ondo State Government and the entire public of the immediate impeachment of the Senate President of the National Association of Ondo State Students, Sen. Akindoyo Joshua.
The immediate impeachment of the Senate President is necessary owing to multiple allegations of financial misconducts, abuse of office, incapacity to perform in office and breach of the constitution by Sen. Akindoyo Joshua.
These allegations stem from reports, now confirmed, that Sen. Akindoyo has been receiving subventions totalling Three Hundred Thousand Naira without proper documentation of such cum information to distinguished members of the Senate.
Also, is the inability of the Senate President to host the inaugural sitting of the Senate as prescribed in constitution “section 20, subsection (3) The inaugural sitting of the Senate house be held not later than a week after Senate election, Section 24 subsection (1) (The duties of the Senate President) He shall summon the sitting of the Senate at least two times in every month through the clerk of the house” and the continued absence of the symbol of authority, the mace.
Report, confirmed also show that Sen. Akindoyo, singlehandedly instituted a committee to investigate self-proclaimed allegations on the Global President, Com. Ayoade Kikiowo. This, Sen. Akindoyo, did without regard to the Senate as prescribed in constitution “section 21 subsection (1) there shall be a senate house for the association which shall consist of all the presidents and general secretaries of all local chapters affiliated to the association”.
Confirmed reports also show that Sen. Akindoyo is now a graduate of his chapter University, Ekiti state University, which under “Chapter Two (MEMBERSHIP Section (4) Any member shall forfeit his/her membership after the completion of his/her degree” automatically disqualifies him as a bonafide member of the Association and thus, the Senate President of the Association.
For these reasons stated, Senators of the National Association of Ondo State Students have therefore impeached Sen. Akindoyo as the Senate President and withdrew his membership of the National Association of Ondo State Students with immediate effect.
The Deputy Senate President, Sen. Asebiode Olabanji has immediately assumed office as the Senate President of the Association.
Sen. Akindoyo is strongly advised to immediately desist from parading himself as the Senate President of the Association and to handover all Association properties to the Clerk.
The Senate therefore informs the public of our assurances to ensure that the financial misconducts of Sen. Akindoyo is adequately brought to book.
