Onu: Obaseki tasks new couple on love, tolerance

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has urged newly married couple, Rev. and Mrs. Paul and Blessing Onu, to imbibe the virtues of love and tolerance so as to make their marriage blissful.

Obaseki spoke at the wedding ceremony of the couple at the St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Sakponba in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The governor admonished the couple to respect each other and abide by the teachings in the Bible.

According to him, “They should continue to have discipline and focus their mind on the word of God.”

The Bishop of Benin Diocese, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen, in his homily, called on the couple to always look up to God to provide solutions to any challenges they face in their marriage.

According to him, “Marriage is not a bed of roses; there are ups and downs in all marriages, so you must look up to God to bring peace, joy and comfort to your home.’

“You must ensure you live peacefully among yourselves; challenges will come, but your ability to overcome them makes you a man. Take your family as your number one priority and ensure you take good care of your wife.”
The clergy further called on parents to ensure they inculcate good morals in their children, empowering them to take over the country’s leadership.
