Oredo LGA endorse Governor Obaseki’s re-election

It was a harvest of endorsements in Benin City, the Edo State Capital as men, women and youths drawn from the various wards in Oredo LGA Local Government Area converged under the auspices of the Insured Good People (IGP), to amongst other itineraries, endorse the Governor Obaseki’s administration.

Admirers of the Governor Obaseki’s administration could not hide their joy as they celebrated the enormous development brought by the Governor to their locality citing numerous road projects and reforms that has affected them positively.

The convener of the group, Mr Edefe Osagie said the group has been in the front burner of advocating for good governance and that the governor Obaseki’s administration has brought a stop to their search with his impressive service in the seat of power ranging from the preponderance of infrastructural developments and human capacity developments brought by him.

Mr Eben Ledion who spoke on behalf of the government officials who were on ground to receive the endorsement on behalf of their principal, said, “endorsements for Governor Obaseki as you can see today, is being spearheaded by ordinary men and women who have being positively impacted by the Governor Obaseki’s administration. That’s a sign to show that the Governor’s acceptance cuts across various strata of the society. As it has always been, the Governor has placed emphasis on meeting the yearnings of these people and not the yearnings of few insatiable and greedy godfatherism protagonists.”

All who gathered, in their hundreds, concluded by singing victory songs for the Governor Obaseki’s administration as they vowed to continue to work for the Governor’s re-election.

Orhionmwon People Protest Against the Silence of Obaseki over the arrest of their son, Hon. Osemwengie Ero, the Honourable Commissioner for Art, Culture and Tourism by the Interpol in France.

The indigenes of Orhionmwon Local Government area have appealed to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki to use his office to ensure their son, Hon. Osazee Osemwengie Ero is released from from Interpol detention.

The People alleged that for some weeks now, their son have been arrested in France for the offence of Money laundering. They said he was arrested with the sum of $2,000,000 which was directly given to him by the Governor to keep for some investment purposes when he went with the Governor to France recently, rather than the Governor to use his office to ensure he is released, the Governor came to Benin and has done nothing but left their son with the Interpol.

The People said the most painful aspect of it is that the Governor is busy lying against the Commissioner and not telling the world the main reason he was arrested. The Governor is busy saying that the Commissioner was arrested not because of the money that was found with him but because of the offence he committed some years ago while in Italy. This action of the Governor according to them is to avoid wrath of the People who may feel angry over how Edo money is being looted abroad through the aide of his Commissioner.

They further claimed that the Commissioner of Art, Culture and Tourism has no criminal record or declared wanted before and they are surprised that the Governor is diverting attention from the reason he was arrested.

They call on well meaning Edo people to prevail on the Governor to secure the release of their son as it is unfair for him to treat his best Commisioner in this wicked and heartless manner. They said they will have no other option than to take their protest to the street if Hon. Osemwengie Ero is not released before the end of this year.
