A High Court sitting in Osun state, on Wednesday, 8th August, have refused suit seeking the disqualification of Senator Ademola Adeleke from coming Governorship election, ruling that the lawmaker is eligible to contest the September 22 poll.
The presiding judge, David Oladimeji held that the plaintiff failed to establish claim of forgery against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, hence, dismissing the suit filed against him.
Two members of the PDP, Rasheed Olabayo and Idowu Oluwaseun, had dragged Adeleke to court as they alleged that he did not meet the educational requirement to contest the poll.

On Wednesday, Justice Oladimeji agreed with the prayer of the defendants and dismissed the suit but expressed reservation that the “document” submitted by Senator Ademola Adeleke has “some serious and damaging irregularities.” In order words, certificate forgery.
The judge found that the first defendant was educated up to secondary school level, which the plaintiff also admitted this in their affidavit.
Justice Oladimeji also ruled out the plaintiff on forgery claim in the origination summon, saying they failed to prove that claim before the court.
