Osun State Government mobilise relief materials and most importantly food for our people.

AN OPEN NOTE TO OSUN STATE GOVERNOR

HIS EXCELLENCY SIR, WE MUST FEED OUR PEOPLE

The Osun State Government should as a matter of Urgency direct concerned agencies of government, political appointees, elected officials, Local Government Chairmen and Councilors to mobilise relief materials and most importantly food for our people.

I have sadly observed, that our LGA chairmen and people in government are more interested in the lockdown than in how the people will survive during the lockdown.

We must not forget that Scientists world over battling this scourge of COVID 19 seem to have agreed that a compromised immune system is the catalyst on which this virus grows. In elementary biology, we are taught that lack of food is the easiest way to a compromised immune system. We must avoid giving our people two options of either to die by coronavirus or die by hunger, these are very much unfavourable choices.

We have a vast of population daily wage earners in Osun, in my opinion locking these people in their homes without plans of how food, water and other essentials will get to them presents far more danger than Coronavirus we seem to dread.

On a final note when the palliatives will start coming, the governor must direct local government chairmen and all involved to ensure that all residents in Osun are giving priority, this palliative must not be shared based on party lines. Posterity will be very harsh on anyone that buries humanity on the alter of political party.

Thank you.
