PDP Will Produce Next President - Philip Shaibu

Edo state Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, on Saturday declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will produce the next President from the South-South zone, just as he noted that it is important for the political equation of the country.

 

Shaibu made the assertion when political leaders from the South South converged at the Benin city palatial residence of Late Chief Tony Anenih, former National leader and BoT Chairman of the PDP, in Edo state to celebrate the newly elected South-south national vice chairman, Chief Dan Orbih for a resounding victory at the party’s zonal congress held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

 

Shaibu said, “We voted for President Buhari again and he had second term. South South must produce the next President of Nigeria. Chief Dan Orbih being National Vice Chairman South South of the PDP from our state is not by mistake. We need to stabilize the state, the zone and Nigeria. That is why we have you. You have a great task ahead of you. You will not only drive it, but we will support you to the benefit of all of us.” the deputy governor said.

He described Chief Dan Orbih as an astute politician who has fought tirelessly to bring the PDP in the state from opposition to the ruling party.


Shaibu, in company of top echelon of the PDP, including former and serving lawmakers said the South South zone cannot be left behind particularly under the leadership of Chief Dan Orbih insisting that all hands must be on deck to ensure the zone produces the next President of the country come 2023.

 

Also congratulating the South-south national vice chairman for a resounding victory at the party’s zonal congress, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun, Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), said he is hopeful that the South South Chairman of the party will not only deliver the zone for PDP, but will ensure victory and emergence of the next President from the zone in 2023.

 

Some friends and political associates of the newly elected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-south national vice chairman, Chief Dan Orbih while celebrating him, pledged their support for the PDP as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.

 

Orbih, who was returned unopposed at the party’s zonal congress held at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers state polled a total of 960 votes out of the 964 votes cast to emerge winner.


Other staunch PDP supporters and faithfuls from within and outside Edo state hailed the visionary leadership style of Chief Dan Orbih, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-south national vice chairman.

 

Chief Dan Osi Orbih, in his speech, pledged to reposition the party and make it stronger in 2023, just as he assured that the party would change the fortunes of the party in the zone come 2023 Presidential election.

 

Orbih said he is committed to the political development of the zone and the party.
