The Afe Babalola University commissions multi-billion naira building project on Monday, 21st May, 2010.

The build project which took exactly five months, starting December, 24th 2017 includes an 18M fixed Dome Planetarium, a Hospital and a School of Management and Social Sciences (SMS) building. It also has Halls of Residence and Sophisticated Telsmedicine Equipments.

The project according to source, was powered by the Afe Babalola University and Chairmaned by Prof. Adeolu Durotoye. There was no Federal, TET Fund or any form of special support involved. “It was purely Are Afe Babalola’s Private Funds.

The Social Management and Sciences (SMS) building alone gulped about Five Billion Naira while the project in total took about Seven Billion Naira.

Present at this grand commissioning were Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, Aare Afe Babalola, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof.  Adeolu Durotoye, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Oba Rufus Adeyemo, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti among many others.
