Plot to block Labour Party Guber Candidate in Kaduna unveiled

PRESS RELEASE BY COALITION OF SOUTHERN KADUNA YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ON THE PURPOTED PLAN TO HINDER THE GUBERNATORIAL AMBITION OF THE LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE.

It has come to the notice of Southern Kaduna youths and women, that the ambition of Mr. Jonathan Asake, who is the current President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), to run for the governorship position of Kaduna State in the forthcoming 2023 general elections on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) is about to be sabotaged by some political players and so-called elders, who do not uphold the very tenets of the Southern Kaduna people nor believe in moving the region forward.

Over the years the Southern Kaduna people have played second fiddle, catch-up and substitute to our brothers from the northern part of the State, in spite of the numerous human resources that is inherent in Southern Kaduna. That the region is blessed with academics and leaders of worth is an understatement, but what still remains a fact is that we are backbenchers when it comes to governance and political matters in the State.

The Southern Kaduna youths and women do not only believe, but have total confidence in the leadership dexterity of someone of Mr. Jonathan Asake’s pedigree. This, he has overtime displayed, as the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU). He has relentlessly spoken for the entire Southern Kaduna People, sticking out his neck on various occasion just to ensure that the region enjoys good governance.

Plot to block Labour Party Guber Candidate in Kaduna unveiled

We, therefore, kick against the news making the rounds that a former governor of Kaduna State and a Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in the State, is willing to wet the palms of some Southern Kaduna leaders so that they can persuade Mr. Jonathan Asake to abandon his dreams and aspiration of vying for the position of governor in Kaduna State on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), which represents the future ambition of the Southern Kaduna focus Youth and women regarded as a third force in the Nigerian political setting.

So, without equivocation, the Southern Kaduna youths are calling on the so-called leaders and elders of the region to steer clear and not soil their hands for posterity sake, as the starving and marginalised sons and daughters of Southern Kaduna would hold them responsible for the audacious and reprehensible sin they are about to commit.

Once again we sincerely thank the Press for her promptness and we believe this press release will reach the nook and crannies of the State, the country, and beyond. We also call on relevant stakeholders to facilitate this and encourage a Southern Kaduna Governor in our dear State.

Long live Southern Kaduna!
Long live Kaduna State!!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Signed:

Comrade. Danjuma Peter
Chair, Southern Kaduna Coalition of Young Professionals

Hon. Moses Y. Dogonyaro
Secretary
