The Management of the University of Lagos(UNILAG) has issued an order through the Muslim Society of Nigeria(MSN), canceling the invitation of Omoyele Sowore to speak in an Academic Counselling Seminar.
This is coming barely three days after the massive publicity of his coming.
Omoyele Sowore was invited by the MSN, Unilag Chapter, as a Guest Speaker at their 2019 Academic Counselling Seminar(ACS) which will be holding on Friday, 2nd August.
“It is with heaviness of hearts that we communicate to you, the decision of the school management to stop us from having you as one of the Academic Counseling Seminar(ACS)’s 2019 guest speaker,” it states.
News have it that Sowore’s presence on campus and his speech might instigate the students to rise up in protests against most of Management’s unfair policies, and had decided to immediately intercept his planned presence.
