“PROFESSOR DUROTOYE’S AMBITION IS NOT FOR SELF BUT FOR SERVICE”

Press release for Prof. Adeolu Durotoye by Media assistant, Oluwaseyi Olitan as he withdrew from PDP Governorship race.

“With the deplorable situation of our dear State, Prof. Adeolu Durotoye decided to step up and accept the challenge of bringing good governance to the good people of Osun State on the platform of PDP.  His message is that politics should be about development and the ideology should be good governance.

His wealth of knowledge as a successful academician, astute administrator, political cum economic scientist , informed his decision to join the Osun 2018 Guber race.

He launched a comprehensive rescue agenda for the betterment of the impoverished people of Osun.
Having gone round the length and breadth of the state, all the 30 local government areas, Prof. Durotoye became more determined to offer his experiences in the interest of the Osun people.

Throughout, his campaign was issue-based. He is an advocate of politics without bitterness, hate and deceit.

To recap, the seven and half years of the APC have plunged the state and it’s people into abject poverty and penury. Osun is sinking deep in the ocean of humongous debt. we’ve never had it this bad. The educational sector has gone comatose, overtrading has killed the economy of the state. Capital flight has taken over, salaries and  pensions are not paid as at when due, we have never had it so bad.

However, as Prof. Durotoye and his supporters were brazing up for the primaries, The party leadership in Osun  decided that it’s in its best interest to zone the gubernatorial ticket to Osun West Senatorial district .The leaders further took a decision to pick a consensus candidate amongst the  aspirants from Osun West.

In view of this prevailing circumstance, , Prof. Adeolu Durotoye from osogbo, Osun central senatorial district, a locally-bred but globally exposed personality had decided to  submit to party supremacy in the interest of the party and the suffering masses of Osun that he has worked assiduously to rescue. Let it be known beyond any reasonable doubt that Prof. Adeolu Durotoye did not collect money from anybody but has taken this position in the best interest of the party and the people of Osun. Since the party leaders have shown preference for Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi among the aspirants from the West, he has advised his supporters to support Dr Akin Ogunbiyi in Saturday’s primary. Prof Durotoye’s ambition is not for self but for service, (service to God and humanity) . Nothing is too much to sacrifice for the PDP and Osun State.

Prof.Durotoye thanked all his supporters who believed in his vision. The present development should not be taken in bad fate. Prof. Adeolu Durotoye is still very much in PDP and he is fully involved in the ongoing process to choose a qualified, credible, and God-fearing candidate to fly the flag of the party in the September 22, 2018 election.
