After much deliberation, the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria(FAAN) at Ikeja, Lagos, has released a list of security agencies strictly to be found at the Passengers and Goods Terminals.
Only the following agents are allowed:
1. Nigerian Immigration Services (NIM) – Arrival and Departures
2. Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) – Arrival Only
3. National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) – Arrival and Departure
4. State Security Services (SSS)
5. Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EODU)
6. Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) – Cargo Terminal only
More so, the NIM, NCS and NDLEA agents must always appear on uniform with undetachable name tag.
The SSS will be used only for intelligent gathering while the EODU will only function on call at the baggage hall.
